Purpose of the Duty Manager is to authorise, regulate, control and terminate aircraft flights in accordance with company and governmental regulations and policies to ensure safety.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Take all necessary steps to ensure a safe and punctual operation in accordance with the Operations Manual and operating procedures, on a cost efficient basis.
- Monitor and anticipate events that may affect operational integrity and to take such steps as might be necessary to mitigate disruption to the flying program, in conjunction with the Supervisor-Crew Planning.
- As dictated by operational requirements, the DM-FOS may coordinate crewing related actions directly with the Crew Controller.
- Interacting with all relevant internal and external stake holders to ensure all operating constraints and irregular operation recovery options are identified.
- Coordinating and filing the schedule and informing schedule approval details to relevant departments and out stations on a timely manner.
- To provide Passenger Data entry support in the event of check-in system failure.
- Ensure a flight will not be scheduled unless it has been ascertained, to the extent possible, that the conditions and ground facilities required for the flight are adequate for the type of operation.
- Ensure proper and relevant information is prepared and distributed to the pilots on dispatch release.
Requirements
- University or college degree
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
- In depth knowledge of an Flight planning systems and flight dispatch
- Knowledge of airline operations; and computerized operations systems, preferably Navblue, SITA, AIMS.
