Technical Buyer reports to the Supervisor Material and inventory Control.
The responsibilities of the Technical Buyer include:
- Act as an interface between stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure all the technical procurement requirements are being purchased and delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner as per company’s defined measures and Airbus approved specifications.
- Supports in setting up a strategy, operating procedures and suppliers’ KPIs to ensure best quality and process are being achieved for all goods and services prior to signing any contract with suppliers.
- Evaluates vendors and suppliers and carries necessary arrangements in coordination with QA and Finance department.
- Supports in assessing the performance of existing vendors and suppliers prior to renewing contracts, monitors the vendor’s evaluation forms.
- Partners with the Stores inspector to control any stores discrepancies, mismatch or damages and to resolve the same with suppliers immediately.
- Ensures minimum stock level of parts is maintained, raises orders for replenishments and replacements against scrapped items as per adopted procedures.
- Partners with stakeholder to manage the robbery of engines or components to ensure continued airworthiness and operational requirements of aircraft.
Note: Part of the Technical buyer team manages AOG desk functions.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in aviation technical procurement.
- Experience with Airbus A320 family aircraft.
- Experience and Training in managing the Dangerous Good Regulations and Handling.
- Familiarity with business skills as relating to department and manpower management.
- Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience as a minimum.
- Proficient in MS Office suite; Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.
