Nuvani London is proud to partner with an esteemed luxury hotel in the Maldives, seeking a talented and experienced Chef de Cuisine specialising in Chinese Cuisine. As the Chef de Cuisine, you will be responsible for leading the culinary team and ensuring the highest quality of food, as well as setting and maintaining food standards, purchasing supplies, and managing the kitchen budget for the restaurant.

• Demonstrate leadership and excellent communication skills to oversee and manage the kitchen team
• Develop, create, and update menus regularly with authentic and innovative dishes
• Maintain and execute all standards for food preparation, presentation, and hygiene
• Effectively manage food quality, control food cost and waste, and maintain inventory levels for the section of the restaurant
• Train and develop the culinary team by conducting regular trainings, coaching, and performance evaluations
• Stay up-to-date with culinary trends and ensure the section of the restaurant remains competitive

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as a Chef de Cuisine specialising in Chinese Cuisine in a high-end hotel or restaurant
• Must be a Chinese national or speak Chinese fluently due to the restaurant cuisine
• Deep knowledge and expertise in culinary techniques and ingredients
• Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
• Knowledge of leading food hygiene and safety practices
• A degree or diploma in Culinary Arts or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Passion for authentic and innovative Chinese cuisine with the ability to create inspiring menus
