We are currently seeking a skilled Assistant Executive Pastry Chef to join our esteemed client, an ultra-luxury resort in The Maldives. As the Assistant Executive Pastry Chef, you will work closely with the Executive Pastry Chef to create and oversee the pastry department, ensuring exceptional quality and presentation of desserts, pastries, and baked goods. Responsibilities
- Assist the Executive Pastry Chef in developing and executing innovative and enticing pastry menus and concepts
- Prepare high-quality desserts, pastries, and baked goods according to established recipes and standards
- Supervise and train junior pastry chefs and kitchen staff to ensure consistent quality and efficient operations
- Collaborate with other culinary departments to ensure a cohesive and exceptional dining experience
- Maintain inventory of pastry supplies, including ingredients, equipment, and tools
- Assist with monitoring and controlling food costs, portion sizes, and wastage to maximise profitability
- Adhere to health and safety regulations in the pastry kitchen
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality industry
- Must hold experience of French patissere
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, including baking, decorating, and plating
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Creativity and a passion for pastry and dessert creation
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in the culinary industry
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Culinary degree or relevant certification in pastry arts
